What you choose to wear says a lot about yourself, your personality and your day to day life. Friends can be a great resource, but they also can give conflicting advice. Bad clothing certainly has a greater effect on a first date as opposed to good clothing choices, so keep these guidelines in mind when picking out what to wear on a first date.
First things first, it’s always better to be over-dressed than under-dressed. If you show up to a date over-dressed, you can always lose the suit jacket or tie to better fit the the restaurant or venue. It just doesn’t work the other way around.
Be comfortable but confident!
Accentuating your best assets will help control the focus. If your best asset is your chest, then a V-neck top would be a great choice. If it’s your eyes, then wear a shirt that compliments and makes them Pop! If you best asset is your ass then…. You get it? You got it? Good!
No Crocs, and No White Socks Please!
Be mindful of the venue, some places and restaurants have a dress code, collared shirts and sports coats might be the more appropriate choice. Other activities such as hiking, out to the beach, or a picnic in the park with dictate a more casual, comfortable wardrobe.
Lastly, hygiene speak volumes about who you are as a person. It’s important to focus your efforts on being clean and neat. You should feel confident because you smell great and comfortable in your kick ass clothes.
So remember these 3 simple things when choosing your most flattering outfit:
-Consider the venue
-Error on the Over-dressed side
-Accentuate your best assets
